Today is Saint Nicholas Day. It's a tradition here in Switzerland to bake little guys called "Grittibänz" for this day. Each member of the family gets one. And we will eat them for breakfast with butter and honey or jam. Look at them - they are so funny this year: big and sturdy.

If you want to try it:

500 g flour
1 1/2 teaspoon salt

mix it well

60 g butter (melted)
3 - 3 1/2 dl milk (lukewarm)
20 g fresh yeast or
one bag dried yeast for 500 g flour
1 tablespoon sugar (for the yeast)

mix it with the flour and knead it well until the dough is smooth. Then put it in a warm place and let it double. It takes 30 to 60 minutes. Then knead the dough again and form the guys. Bake them with 200 C in the oven for 20 - 25 minutes.

This Zendala will be my Chrstmas Greeting Card for my beloved ones.

It's been a while since I tangled for the diva's challenge. It was a busy time recently and I was'nt tangling a lot, but I always had a look what' the diva's challenges were.
This is for the challenge #196 All dolled up. I had this idea a few days ago when I was thinking about Christmas cards ideas. I like this cute angel looking into the sky. I also like the new Arukas tangle. It comes right for Christmas!

The Diva's Weekly Challenge # 179: Be like Bijou

First of all a warm welcome to Bijou the new member of the Zentangle Family.
The Challenge was to tangle on tiny Bijou tiles (5x5cm). It was really special, because I tend to bigger formats. But as usual it was fun to sit down and slow down, breath and follow the the strokes.

I had a quick look to all your contributions on the diva's site: they are all awesome and very inspiring, but please apologise for not commenting a lot. I cant 'find the time quite now.

Have a good time and be well!

I'm slowly recurring from the summer break. It was a nice break although the weather here in Switzerland is terrible. Rain, rain and again rain. There are flooded villages and a lot of damage all over the country. My thoughts are with the people who are affected.

The Diva's Weekly Challenge #178: The Challenge was to create a Duotangle with Tangles beginning with the initials of your name. So I chose two Tangles, Cyme and Emingle, created by Maria and Rick of Zentangle, in honour of the 10th birthday of Zentangle.

The Diva's Weekly Challenge: Duotangle Auraknot and Mooka:
Two Tangles I love. What a fun!
I missed the last challenge, but this week I got the time to tangle away. The weather isn't so hot as last week, my garden is in a good state. So let's tangle. Now I will have a look at all your contributions for the challenge. I'm very curious.

The Diva's Weekly Challenge was an UMT (Use My Tangle) Challenge. The tangle was Bugles. First of all I must admit I wasn't very motivated to tangle. Somehow Bugles couldn't inspire me. And than I really had other things to do. Especially my vegetable garden. I planted fennel, celery stalks, cabbage turnip (kohlrabi), Swiss chard, salad, runner beans and sowed beetroot. And there was a lot of weed too.
But I couldn't give in to my unmotivated mood about Bugles. So I tangled away and then this Zendala growed out of my pen.

This one is for Adele Bruno's It's a string thing #43.
I couldn't get the in-and-out look of Huggins as I wished. It looks a bit plain. It's not quite how I had it in mind, but it was as always fun to draw and experiment with my pens.
